Quick note on Setting

Something I seem to have noticed in Gibson's work, is his use of Protagonists. They have a large effect, yes, but they are not the initial pusher. They are dictated more by their environment, then their dictation on their environment. If the comparison could be made, they are not interesting people, but rather live in interesting times. They accomplish a lot, but the outside forces dictate their actions more then they do.
