Neuromancer and Technology

I feel as if technology can be interpreted within Neuromancer, in a similar situation to Prometheus stealing fire from the Gods.  It can be quite simple of an analogy. Prometheus was not responsible for how the fire was used, he merely brought it to the people. Technology can be viewed in the same sense throughout Neuromancer. It is not the producers of technology who are responsible for how people use it. Alfred Nobel did not realize that his invention would be used to kill. He merely brought forward his invention, and society, forward. The same could be said with  Einstein. His theory of relativity may have contributed to the nuclear bomb, but in the end, the only one responsible is the one dropping the bomb.

The point that I am trying to reinforce, is that technology is that it moves us forward. Like a bicycle, we need that forward momentum, we need to keep moving forward, otherwise society will collapse upon itself.
